The cost of eggs has risen 190.9% since 2020. And with costs continuing to rise, we’re all trying to figure out where we can cut back a little bit.

That’s where Upside comes in. It’s a free app that gets you cash back on everyday items, like groceries, gas, and at restaurants. You get to go about your normal business while Upside earns a little bit of cash back here and there along the way.

Upside users earn 3x more cash back than other apps and rewards programs. On average, frequent users earn $340 a year.

You may have noticed the new charts we've been using in the last several editions of the Swaggy letter. We're partnering with an up-and-coming stock market visualization platform that will change the way you look at a company's financials.

Say hello to the beautiful charts from ChartWiz. Want to try the platform for yourself? Click on any of the images below and we'll get you on the list.

Supporting Data Columns (left side):

  • Market Cap

  • Revenue Growth QoQ for their most recent quarter.

META Earnings - How do they make money?

Interesting Takes:

  • 74% gross margin, which is relatively high.

  • 14.5% profit margins, which is being impacted by 30.5% of revenue being spent on R&D

  • Meta Platforms revenue is primarily generated by their top-performing "Family of Apps": Instagram, WhatsApp, Facebook, Facebook Messenger

Meta's profits have been significantly impacted by their R&D expense. Here's a look at both charts: R&D Expense and Net Income.

Meta Platforms is still a cash-generating-machine, but are currently recovering from their (costly) over-investment in the Metaverse. Along with the layoffs the company is doing I wouldn't be surprised to see Meta back to doing 10B+ in net profit per quarter by 2024.
