Before we get into the letter, a shoutout today's sponsor, Bright Cellars.

Discover Wines You Love

Tired of always re-stocking your wine at home? Bright Cellars is the wine club that matches you with wines you'll love. The process uses an algorithm that selects wine based on your taste preferences.

Bright Cellars was created to not only deliver excellent wine, but to also give the added bonus of learning about your wines and your own tastes.

ARKK's big moves

It seems like the ARKK etfs have been on the wrong side of the trade lately, but is that really the case or is that only what we see when people point things out on social media?

I was going to make a list of stocks that are "down bad" versus "up big", but when looking at the YTD chart for almost all growth names, they are still horrendously down bad even after a solid move up in July. Instead, I've organized two lists based on where they are exiting positions, or increasing their holdings.

ARK stocks on high alert

ARK has also invested in some names that have taken on large amounts of (unrealized) losses. I'm keeping these on the high alert list, here are a few.

Roku (ROKU)

YTD Price Action: -65%

Weighting: Roughly 3rd largest position across all ARK ETFs.

Position status: Slow, but steady dollar cost-averaging on their position.

Teladoc (TDOC)

YTD Price Action: -60%

Weighting: Roughly 8th largest position across all ARK ETFs (I do believe it was once #2 or #3 position).

Position Status: Seems like after selling the dip they have begun accumulating shares again in the ARKK ETF.

Robinhood (HOOD)

YTD Price Action: -40%, -80% over the last twelve months.

Weighting: Roughly the 18th largest position across ARK ETFs.

Position Status: HODLing.

Trending Cryptos

What cryptos is everyone talking about? Mainly Ethereum (ETH) and Bitcoin (BTC), but Solana (SOL) made headlines this week after wallets were hacked and had their funds liquidated.

The only crypto newsletter I read

I have a love hate relationship with crypto.

I love it when it goes up, and hate it when it goes down.

This year has been rough for crypto, but one brightspot has been this new crypto newsletter I’m reading (The Milk Road)

I heard about it 3-4 times from people I respect on Twitter, before I finally subscribed…and I have to say… it’s awesome.

If you like Swaggy's Top Stonks, you’ll like The Milk Road.

It’s got that great mix of smart stuff & jokes. And crypto is changing so fast, it’s great to just read a super quick & simple summary of the big news each day.

It’s started by @shaanvp (famous twitter guy) so it got pretty popular quickly (100k+ subscribers this year)

If you wanna keep up with crypto —> highly recommend checking it out.

Two "short-squeeze" names took off this week. Those were Bed, Bath, & Beyond (BBBY) and AMTD.
